Ecoblast Restoration – Blasting Away the Competition, Online and Off

Project Overview

At WeGo, we are pleased to spotlight our work with Ecoblast Restoration (ecoblastrestoration.com), a mobile blasting, painting, and carpentry service provider serving Southern Ontario. Owner Murray Shepherd came to us with an existing site that was underperforming in nearly every measurable way—and we got to work fixing it.

Murray is a hands-on tradesperson with a strong portfolio of completed projects and a clear sense of the quality he delivers. One of the most valuable assets he brought to the table was a rich library of job-site photography spanning a wide variety of project types — exactly the kind of authentic, original content that resonates with both potential clients and search engines alike.

Design and Development

The rescue and redevelopment addressed the site’s foundational shortcomings head-on. The original site lacked basic SEO technical requirements, so our first priority was getting those fundamentals in place. From there, we built out a visual portfolio organized into galleries by project type, putting Murray’s own project photography front and centre. Authentic imagery of real completed work is one of the most powerful tools a trades business can have online — it builds trust, demonstrates capability, and gives search engines genuinely useful content to index.

The site was built on our WordPress technology stack, ensuring strong security, reliable performance, and a platform Murray can grow with.

Challenges and Solutions

Before working with WeGo, Murray’s traffic relied heavily on a significant advertising spend with Yellow Pages—an expensive, increasingly ineffective channel for tradespeople in the digital age. We replaced that dependency with a two-pronged approach: strong organic search performance driven by honest, image-rich content, supplemented by a targeted Google Ads campaign. The result is more traffic at a fraction of the cost, with far better intent from the people arriving at the site.

And we’ll say it plainly: don’t waste your money on Yellow Pages. Create honest content using your own project images in a way that Google finds useful, and let search do the heavy lifting.

Results and Impact

The combination of solid SEO fundamentals, authentic portfolio content, and a lean Google Ads campaign has driven more traffic than Murray was generating with his previous advertising spend — and that traffic is far more targeted and conversion-ready.
